"Silly Fellows" is remake of a Tamil movie starring Vishnu Vishal and Soori. Allari Naresh has reprised Vishnu Vishal?s role while Sunil has stepped into Soori's shoes. The film was also dubbed into Telugu but it didn?t run at the box-office. Director Bhimaneni who is known for remakes has made frame to frame to remake of the original Tamil movie with loud comedy, garish setup and old-style prasa dialogues. This is the only laugh-out-loud moment in this movie which is otherwise quite routine and old-style. All in all, the film is neither out rightly decent comedy nor can be called completely rubbish. Pretty formulaic entertainer.

Director Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, he has done just an okay job with the film. The film is a remake and Bheemineni manages to evoke good laughs in the first half by generating good comedy from Naresh and Sunil. On the whole, Silly Fellows is a better film than Allari Naresh and Sunil?s previous duds. There is nothing new that you will see in terms of comedy, narration or storyline. But what makes things interesting is the way seasoned comedians like Naresh and Sunil lead from the front and make this comedy caper watchable. The only thing you need to do is to not look for logic and just go with the flow of this film which ends as a below average fare this weekend.

Tamil film 'Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran' was dubbed in Telugu as 'Prema Leela Pelli Gola' (2017) and the same has now been remade as 'Silly Fellows', which is a scene-for-scene copy. Even many dialogues are the same, much less almost all the characters. The climax looks lame with too much of simplicity. In the Tamil version, Motta Rajendran appears as the comic guru of aspiring ghosts in the pre-climax and climax sequences and manages to elicit a few guffaws. Here, there is nothing of that sort and only the Posani-JP duo are banked upon. A copycat remake, 'Silly Fellows' falls flat with its uneventful story, loud comedy and too much of reliance on oddball wit.

Jayaprakash Reddy recollecting his memory and telling the same story from early morning is one of the funniest episodes in the film. Climax is just stretched for another fifteen minutes without much comedy. Silly Fellows has its moments of fun, but doesn't get over the average mark at any point. It may appeal to the target audience with few episodes offering decent laughs. Silly Fellows should work with mass audience and is likely to end up as an average grosser at box office. It is definitely not the game-changer that Naresh and Bheemaneni desired for.
